Volkswagen ID.BUZZ Electric Microbus Slated for U.S. Debut in 2023 | Lewisville, TX

According to Volkswagen CEO Scott Keogh, the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ is coming to the United States. Keogh said earlier this year that “the reaction’s been huge” to the ID.BUZZ electric Microbus since its debut in 2017, and that will lead to a production version coming stateside in 2023.

Keogh told Automotive News in January that 2023 will mark the long-awaited return of the Microbus to America.

“I wish it was coming next year,” Keogh said. “It’s not going to come quite as soon as that; it’s going to be a little bit later than that.”

But when it does arrive, the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ will almost certainly have been worth the wait if you’re a fan of the classic Microbus. The ID.BUZZ concept that debuted in 2017 boasted 369 horsepower from its dual-electric motors — a far cry from the 30 horsepower of the first VW Bus sold in America back in 1950. On top of that, the 111-kilowatt-hour battery pack enables a maximum range of around 300 miles, making it a great choice for groovy road trips.

Speaking of groovy, the ID.BUZZ looks the part with a chic look that’s inspired by the classic Volkswagen Microbus. The two-tone V-nose, sloped windscreen, and rectangular windows all hearken back to an American classic associated with road trips and making memories.

The all-new Volkswagen ID.BUZZ looks poised to help a new generation of adventurers when it arrives sometime in 2023. Until then, keep your eyes and ears on the Lewisville Volkswagen blog for more updates.
