Volkswagen ID.7 Electric Sedan

Ready to join the electric automotive revolution? Upgrade your daily commuter car to a new ID.7 electric sedan from Lewisville Volkswagen. This new midsize sedan is joining the VW ID lineup as the brand’s first all-electric passenger car available in the USA. Here’s a preview of the VW ID.7 and why it’s a great option for drivers in Denton County, Texas.

Introducing the first electric VW sedan in the U.S.

Fans of the Passat and Jetta will love the ID.7. It fits seamlessly into the Volkswagen sedan portfolio by embodying the streamlined style, easy handling, and smart engineering that have become signature characteristics across the lineup.

What makes the new ID.7 stand apart is its all-electric powertrain. The upper-midsize sedan uses rechargeable 77 kWh or 85 kWh lithium-ion battery packs. The sedan is built on the automaker’s EV-dedicated modular electric drive matrix (MEB) platform, as the ID.4 SUV and ID.Buzz have also been.

Thus far, the only electric Volkswagen in production has been the ID.3 compact model, but that’s only been sold in Europe. That’s why U.S. dealerships like Lewisville Volkswagen are thrilled that American customers will finally have the opportunity to drive an electric VW sedan, the ID.7.

The inner workings of the VW ID.7

The Volkswagen ID.7 is equipped with either a single-motor setup with a single-speed gearbox powering the rear wheels at 282 horsepower and the most torque of any VW EV thus far. Or, a dual-motor configuration will be available eventually offering all-wheel drive capability, with one motor per axle.

VW estimates that the ID.7 will be able to reach a full-charge range of 435 miles based on the European WLTP cycle; EPA calculations are closer to real-life road tests and tend to be roughly 20% lower, so you can expect the ID.7 to have an actual range in the low 300s in the U.S.[1] That’s plenty of freedom to commute to the office every morning in Fort Worth and have a weekend of fun in Dallas before needing to recharge.

The ID.7 achieves this impressive efficiency due to its elongated, aerodynamic form and shrewd thermal management. Its long wheelbase and coupe-inspired roofline are more than just fashionable; they give the electric sedan an excellent drag coefficient and reduced resistance.

More technology debuts

Volkswagen is using the ID.7 launch to introduce a batch of exciting new tech that will eventually be rolled out across all future Volkswagen models. Thus, the ID.7 gives us an enticing peek into the brand’s future releases and leading innovations.

Comfort is a high priority in the premium ID.7. A new air conditioning operation method is accessible via the 15-inch infotainment screen. Climatronic® seats can dry your clothes as well as cool you off in the sweltering Texas summer heat. The panoramic sunroof uses smart glass that becomes opaque to regulate the sunshine radiating through.

Volkswagen also has refined its infotainment system due to customer feedback by simplifying its menu layout, adding backlit touch sliders, and enhancing the IDA voice assistant. The augmented reality head-up display shows essential data when you’re driving through Lewisville or on a Texas road trip.

Activate Park Assist Pro and use its available memory function to have the ID.7 park itself. VW electric cars like the ID.7 continuously record their recent movement to recreate the same moves in reverse. It’s a very convenient feature when you’re parking in crowded downtown Fort Wayne or Dallas.

The ID.7 is currently in production and will arrive in the U.S. market in 2024. Stay informed about the VW sedan’s availability by contacting Lewisville Volkswagen and speaking with our helpful staff. And learn more about owning an electric Volkswagen vehicle by visiting our dealership.
