Do you and your children get the day of for Veterans Day? If so, what do you do? Many of us get the days off, we see big sales, and we do a little sleeping in, but we should use the day to honor those who protect(ed) and serve. Honors veterans in Lewisville this Veterans Day.

Facts about Veterans Day

We celebrate Veteran’s Day on November 11th each year to celebrate and honor those who have served our country in the armed forced. Veterans Day is a holiday that dates back to the Wilson administration in 1919. Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th as Armistice Day. Veterans Day replaced Armistice Day in 1954. Veterans is not the same as Memorial Day. Veterans is a day to honor American veterans whether deceased or alive.

You can find a number of events to celebrate vets:

  • Flower Mound Veterans Day Relay

The relay kicks off at 8:30 am and lasts until 5 pm,

  • Flower Mound Day Ceremony

On November 8th , the ceremony is a day-long event with cake, picnics, and events. The ceremony starts at 1 pm and lasts until 3 pm.

  • The Colony Five Star Complex

Attend A Salute to Veterans on November 7th. You will enjoy live music, festival events, and a Beer Garden.
