6 VW Models Make 2022 Car and Driver Editors’ Choice List

Every year, Car and Driver names the top vehicles in the automotive industry and recognizes them for their quality, innovation, and enjoyability. It’s a major feat for an automaker to be recognized multiple times in the same year, yet that’s what Volkswagen did!

Six Volkswagen models were honored on the Car and Driver Editors’ Choice List for 2022: the Mk8 Golf GTI hot hatch, turbocharged Golf R hatchback, ID.4 electric SUV, Taos small crossover, Jetta GLI compact sedan, and three-row Tiguan. For the Golf GTI, this is its 16th time making it into the highest echelon of the ranking, the Car and Driver’s 10Best list. All of these models were recognized as outdoing their competitors in their respective segments.

Although all of these models have very different designs and highlights, they all had similar underlying characteristics that Car and Driver judges recognized, including leading safety features, enjoyable driving dynamics, smart packaging, and great value. The editors mentioned highlights like the sporty handling, practicality, and smooth ride on many of their verdicts for these models.
