Golf

Lewisville, Texas is home to several beautiful golf courses praised for offering beautiful landscaping and superior amenities. The city is also home to professional golfer Chad Campbell, who won the PGA Tour Championship in 2003.

Whether you’re a Lewisville resident or simply passing by on a road trip to enjoy a fulfilling round of golf, consider visiting one of the following top golf courses in the Lewisville area.

1. Lake Park Golf Club

Lake Park Golf Club borders the shores of Lewisville Lake and is best known for its beginner-friendly design. Lake Park offers two courses: an 18-hole Champion Course and a nine-hole, par three Executive Course for those who want to enjoy a shorter round of golf. This picturesque lakeside golf course features a series of gentle mounds that frame the fairways and greens so you can enjoy a beautiful view while you play.

Lake Park Golf Club also offers a FootGolf course, where players take turns kicking a soccer ball into a cup, making as few shots as possible in a manner similar to traditional golf.

2. The Lakes at Castle Hills

Located just 14 miles from the center of Lewisville, The Lakes at Castle Hills is often praised for its difficulty level and amenities, which include a heated resort-style pool, tennis courts, a fitness and wellness center, and a luxurious clubhouse. The 18-hole course features natural streams, lakes, and wetlands bordered by hardwood trees. Each hole is designed to take advantage of The Lakes’ natural layout, which lends partly to the overall difficulty of the course considering its many potential water hazards.

3. Hank Haney Golf Ranch

Hank Haney Golf Ranch, also known as Hank Haney Vista Ridge, is an elite golf-training facility that offers instruction, practice areas, and a nine-hole course that winds around the Trinity River in Lewisville. Sign up for golf lessons with professional instructors, or take a few minutes to practice before your game using the golf ranch’s natural-turf driving range, pitching greens, sand bunkers, and putting greens. If you’re a seasoned golfer, skip practicing and head straight to the facility’s quiet, tranquil nine-hole course.

4. The Tribute Golf Club

Located just 30 minutes away from Lewisville in The Colony, The Tribute Golf Club features holes that mirror those of the famous St. Andrews course in Scotland, which is one of the oldest golf courses in the world. The course features wide-swept dunes and water hazards that challenge even the most experienced of golfers, and it is bordered by sea-washed grasses. The Tribute Golf Club is ranked the top Public Golf Course in Dallas and was voted one of America’s top 100 Greatest Public Courses for the 2007 to 2008 golf season.

This weekend, pack up your vehicle and head to the Lewisville area to check out some of the state’s best golf courses. If you find that your drive happens to lack beautiful scenery, your golf destination will more than make up for what you might have missed on the road.
