2022 Volkswagen Taos

2022 Volkswagen Taos | Lewisville, TX

The all-new 2022 Volkswagen Taos is just around the corner and promises to deliver all of the usual Volkswagen goodies in a more compact and affordable package. Slightly smaller than the popular VW Tiguan, the Taos delivers excellent cargo space, passenger comfort, efficiency, and modern, high-tech features. Take a look.

Under the hood

Every Volkswagen Taos, regardless of trim level, is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter TSI® engine rated at 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. This is not just your average turbo-four, though. Using variable geometry turbocharging and 4MOTION® all-wheel drive, the Taos delivers sensational performance while delivering strong fuel economy and modest towing capability.

Passenger and cargo space

Though its dimensions are well suited to urban environments, the new Taos is quite spacious. It has 99.5 cubic feet of passenger space, which is only 1.6 cubic feet less than the two-row Tiguan. No matter where you’re sitting, expect plenty of legroom: 40.1 inches at the front, and 37.9 inches at the rear. The Taos also offers 27.9 cubic feet of luggage space between the second-row seats and 65.9 cubic feet with the second row folded down. That’s just good design.

Next-gen infotainment

All 2022 VW Taos models are equipped with a high-tech display that uses capacitive touch technology to provide smartphone-like feedback and responsiveness. The Taos S will get a 6.5-inch screen running on the Volkswagen MIB2 system, while the Taos SE and SEL will get an 8-inch screen running on the MIB3 system. Standard features for the latter include wireless charging, three USB-C ports, and enhanced voice recognition. All models will get Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and MirrorLink® capability.

Advanced driver assistance

One of the 2022 Taos’s most exciting features is IQ.DRIVE®, a suite of advanced driver assistance technologies. It includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane assistance, rear traffic alert, and most notably, hands-on semi-automated capability. At speeds between 0 and 95 mph, the Travel Assist system is capable of accelerating, braking, and steering the vehicle in response to traffic and lane markings.

The all-new 2022 Taos is an attractive new entry point to the Volkswagen SUV lineup. Get a closer look at it and other VW SUVs at Lewisville Volkswagen in Lewisville, Texas.
